There is only one Solar System but there are many different gaxesy like we are in the optical system Or the Milkyway and it looks like many different shaps and sizes

Actually, there are countless solar systems. In the last 10 years we have discovered over 250 planets orbiting other stars. It is thought that about 1/3 to 1/2 of all stars have planetary components. We are discovering a new planet about every 2 weeks. In the Milky Way galaxy, there are about 150 billion stars. There are 100's of billions of galaxies in our universe. So how many solar systems are there ? I'd say trillions.
If the new Membrane theory is correct, our universe is not the only one.
Is there life out there? The laws of chemistry and physics are the same everywhere. The chance that we are alone in the universe is very very small. I think we will have the answers to these questions very soon with the launching of some new planned orbiting telescopes. The interferometry telescope will enable us to view earth like planets orbiting other star systems. In 5-10 years from now, we'll know.
