You should answer the question in such a way that it will satisfy the questioner. It does not have any specific rule of using some lines. But the answer must be appropriate. For example if someone has asked you , 2+2? the simple answer is "2 plus 2 will be 4" i.e. just one line is enough. But if someone has asked about relationship and how do you think about them then surely that answer will be longer than the previous answer.
