A veterinarian or a veterinary surgeon, usually called as a vet, is basically a physician specifically for animals and specialising in the practice of veterinary medicine. Requirements for becoming a vet consist of undergraduate studies in veterinary medicine and wide veterinary and other associated experience, generally over a thousand hours of it. Veterinary school generally goes on for about four years, similarly like human medicine courses, with minimum one year being devoted to clinical rotations.

Veterinary course are available in many educational institutions that offer medicine as a subject around the world. However, rules requirements needed to become a veterinarian differ on a wide basis from country to country.

Hence, it would be advisable if you checked up the veterinary courses available in your area or city, you will get the required information over the internet or you can even visit the local animal hospital and ask the vet for guidance.
