How Do I Change My Ip Address (windows Xp)?

AT home job that requires me to change my ip address, by unplugging my modem, this does not seem to work.

    Go to start > then control panel > Network connections > Local Area Connections > Properties > Internet Protocol

    By following these steps you can change your IP address by requesting ISP. This is the process to change your IP address on Window XP. The procedures of different IPS providers can vary and when you will request to change the address for the second time, then you may find it difficult to get it change. Another way to change IP is by turning of at least five times. And repeat the process for about 8 hours. I am sure this will work, otherwise follow another given technique:
