Why Does Lightning Always Come First Before Thunder?

    Yes, i believe it does. Light travels faster than sound

      They are generated at the same time, as you'll know if you've ever been really close to a strike! Further off, lightning travels at 300,000km per second, i.e. The speed of light, and thunder at about 345 metres per second, i.e. The speed of sound, so the lightning is definitely going to reach you before the thunder.

        It is because light travels at a much faster speed then sound. If you were standing where the lighting hit you would here it and see it at the same time.
