How Recognize A Kind Of Swelling Without General Anesthesia?

My dog is13 has on the leg some swelling about 2” dia. I recognized 3 months ago. It’s no aggressive grow and no discomfort for him. Vet recommended biopsy. A biopsy can be done by cutting a small piece of the tissue or by using a needle and syringe (NAB) to remove a sample. But NAD don’t use for animal. I’m afraid of general anesthesia for old dog

General anesthesia is really the only way to be able to get a good biopsy. Your vet would need to make an incision and remove a portion or even the whole tumor if it's accessible. Then he will need to suture it. There is no way your dog or any dog will stay put for something like that. Although I would recommend that you do blood work to check for any signs that your dog is not healthy enough for sedation FIRST. If the blood work checks out good, you should have any problems with sedation. If your vet decides to remove all of it, it could help your dog live a healthier life depending on what kind of tumor it is. It could always be a cyst or a fatty lump which are relatively safe lumps, though.
