Since Penzance is such an old settlement, it obviously follows that there would be many historical Buildings like the Lescudjak Castle which is a 1000 year old castle. Many interesting and historic sites can be found in the Town centre including the Market House and Market Jew Street.

The road from the Market House to Penzance's harbor is Chapel Street. It is the hub of the town and without a doubt the most historic part. It has a lot of the old stately houses including the Bronte family home. Also found on this street is the Union Hotel where the first announcement of Lord Nelson's victory at Trafalgar took place.

The strange and famous Egyptian House and The Turk's Head Inn (the oldest public house in all of Penzance) are interesting places of great historical value. There are famous bridges and old cathedrals and churches too (St. Anthony's and St. Clares).
Outside the town there are ancient settlements that date back to the stone and bronze ages which have been excavated and are open to the public.
