Insert needle into first stitch on other needle,

wrap or scoop yarn on tip of inserted needle and scoop/pull it through the stitch and *leave* the old stitch still where it is

wrap the yarn around the tip of the needle with the new stitch,

then insert needle into first stitch on other needle again and
wrap or scoop yarn on tip of inserted needle again and scoop/pull it through the stitch again, and then pull that stitch (the one that you've knit into twice) off its needle.

    That's it.
