There is a lot of difference between marketing and selling. However, usually people use them interchangeably which is totally wrong. Marketing is a process that deals with knowing the wants of the consumers, Producing products and services that fulfill these wants, and finally moulding the consumers to buy these products and services. Selling is only one part of the marketing philosophy through which you change the consumer's inclination to buy your product or service. Functions like Advertising, distribution and selling are all part of Marketing.
