How Do I Embed An Image/photograph Into An Email Through Yahoo Or Hotmail?

Answer Question

5 Answers - Sort by: Date | Rating

It is easy to embed an image or a photograph in an e-mail which is sent from a Yahoo or a Hotmail account because it supports aspNetEmail. The advantage of aspNetEmail is that it automatically supports embedding images or photographs in an e-mail. Embedding images or photographs in an e-mail is not possible if you use System.Web.Mail.

Apart from embedding images from a URL, aspNetEmail also supports a wide variety of features such as built-in iCal and vCal Calendaring support, built-in vCard support, DataGrids (which can be added to the e-mail body of the users), E-mail UserControls, attachments (which can be created from Streams), attachments (which can be created from URL's), images (which can be embedded from HTML Strings), embedded images (which can be created from Byte Arrays), ASP.NET Exceptions ASP.NET Web Forms (which can be automatically processed), e-mail (which can be sent from the web.config Settings), DataTables (which can be MailMerged), etc.

Dear Mr. Fullon, I receive Email with photos embedded. Lately an impoverished friend in the Phillipines sent me family photos this way. Yet, I cannot find out how to embed photos into text in Yahoo email. Do I need to buy some other ASP.net program or something. What am I missing here?

The procedure to insert a photo or image into an email through yahoo or hotmail is same. In Yahoo and Hotmail emails we have an attachment facility to send a file or photograph over internet or our host. They have some limitation for the size of the file or photograph. The procedure to embed photograph or image is almost the same in both the mails. First login into yahoo or hotmail from were you want to send your photograph. After you login you get an option known as compose, wherein you will need to write the email, click on that option. Write your email ID in front of TO at the top and then write subject and then write your message in the blank space. After that when you click on the option attach it will open a new window, which will show you tab browse. Click on browse and select the image file in your hard drive or CD. Next you need to click on the option done, once clicked on the option you will return to the main page. Now click on send button, the email will be send to your host with your photograph attached to that email.

Yahoo NO longer allows any photos to be sent in their emails; you can only send them as attachments. Unfortunately, they stopped allowing that last year. When anyone tells you how to embed a photo into an email, they are actually telling you to send it as an attachment or they have no idea what they are doing....prime example....read the above response from "priya"; he is telling you how to send it as an attachment. Be careful who you listen to, my friend!

Yeah there is a difference between an attachment of a photo, and embedding a photo are two different things. Attach= download as file. Embed= when recipient opens mail picture is displayed automatically.

Well, I reckon you can imbed an image. I haven't done this but I do receive emails in html format with images imbedded.

Ok, change the source of one of these emails and point a
image tag to an image on the internet
and save it as a draft and use that as a template each time you want to send an email. A bit long winded but if i'm not mistaken that would work albeit as a definite work around. You woudl also need somewhere on the internet to host your picture.

For hotmail you can just drag an image on a web page and drop it in hotmail.

One way to embed pictures in yahoo rather than adding an attachment is to use your signature option which allows some HTML. First your image has to be on the web try Flickr or photo bucket which are free and allow direct off site linking.1. Go to Mail Options2. Click "Signature"3. Click "View HTML Source"4. Insert your images website address, example: <img src="http://www.photobucket.com/yourimagename.jpg">5. Unclick "View HTML Source"6. Your image should show it the box, if only text shows you may be missing a < or " in your HTML code which you inserted in step 4

I find this the most curious question. No one seems to have a real answer for this, and I have tried many suggestions' such as parking the photo at a photo storage site, pasting onto a mail composition page on IE, etc. Yet I keep receiving mail that contains embedded pics. How do they do it? And why did Yahoo disable this facility?
