The oldest fossils of humans (our ancestors) have been found on the continent of Africa. Countries in Africa that these were found in include Kenya and Ethiopia, where two very important discoveries of fossilized hominid remains were found.

Yes, Africa, particularly East Africa since this was the birth place of homo sapiens.
