Because the ginuesses at the factory who design these things are retarded. They design crap made of plastic and cable. Not a good combination and doesn't last. Your cable has mangled the plastic it wrapped around and now is twisted and kinked. Need new cable and pulley. Possibly a new motor. All in the name of making lighter vehicles.
