What Is Cilantro?

    Cilantro is the common name for Coriander in North America, the cilantro is considered as an annual herb in the family of Apiaceae. The cilantro or the Coriander is the said to be the native of southwestern Asia, west to North Africa. The cilantro is soft, and hairless, it is a foetid plant that nearly grows up to 50 cm. The leaves of the cilantro plant are variable in shape. The flowers of Cilantro are borne in small umbels, they are either white or very pale pink in colour, the flowers are asymmetrical, five petals that point away from the center of the Umbel. The fruit of a cilantro is globular, dry schizocarp and has a diameter of 3 to 5 mm.
