Some people can sleep like a rock no matter where they are!
No matter others who have no trouble at all sleeping at home have a terrible time falling asleep in a strange or different place. Even if the new place is a beautiful motel room, or a best friend's house, it is still strange.

This is known as environmental insomnia, This results from people who get keyed up over new places or unfamiliar surroundings. Whenever some people are away from home, they get nervous and toss and turn all night.

If you have trouble falling asleep in a strange bed, and have plans to travel somewhere, try taking a little bit of home with you. Maybe you have a favourite pillow or blanket that you use every night. Some adults even have a stuffed animal. Other people might have a favourite pair of pyjamas or a nightgown.
Almost anything that is familiar to you might help.

And if none of these things help, your doctor can give you a little medication to help you relax.
