I am so sorry for your loss! Our pets are more than just family members. They show us so much about loyalty, trust and love. In Dallas we have had a rash of dog poisonings from people who are just hateful and want to hurt others. I hope that was not what happened to Daisy. Did she bark too much? Did she have access to enough water? Summertime takes its toil on pets. My Dachund just got into rat poison but we discovered it in time. It was not in a place where I though she could reach it but I was wrong. Hemorraging is a symptom of rat poisoning. We were told to watch out for bleeding from her eyes, mouth or rectum. She is OK now but the vet bill was $400.

Boxers as a breed are slightly more prone to heart problems than you might expect. It is possible she had a heart attack and may have nipped her own tongue when she passed out. This was a horrible shock for you and I hope you are starting to come to terms with it.

Our boxers all have had problems with seizures when they got around five or six years of age. Could she maybe have had a seizure, which could have triggered a heart attack? Very very sorry for your loss.
