The Kruger National Park is in South Africa located near the border with Mozambique. It is situated in the tropical and subtropical Lowveld of north eastern and eastern Transvaal. The park forms part of the Southern Savannah Woodland biotic zone of sub-Saharan Africa and is bounded by Zimbabwe to the north and Mozambique to the east.

Kruger National Park extends to an area of almost 19,500 square kilometres, about the same size as Wales or approximately two-thirds the size of Belgium. It is one of only 14 national parks anywhere in the world that is larger than 15,000 square kilometres in size. The park spans 320 kilometres north to south and at its widest point is 65 kilometres east to west.

Kruger National Park is one of South Africa's premier tourist attractions and famous throughout the world as a wildlife sanctuary and home to an incredible diversity of animals including over 140 species of mammals.
