I Have A Jack Russell Puppy Are They Good House Dogs Or Does Anyone Have Any Interesting Stories About Them Or Trying To Potty Train Them?

I have an 11 year old Jack Russell. This is a really active breed that requires a lot of exercise.  If your provide that and give them a lot of love they make great house dogs.  If you don't have a large yard or are unwilling to give them long walks and keep them entertained, they will not be happy just lounging about.  I love my Jack and think the breed is one of the most intelligent and endearing around.  Very entertaining.  As for the potty training, I did have trouble fully training mine… It took a good year to convince her that outside was potty time.  When I got her she had never been outside and I think that was half of her problem.  While you train yours, make sure to keep an eye on him at all times so he doesn't have an opportunity to "slip up."  Tether him to your belt if you have to.  He also needs to learn that when he is outside it's potty time and not play time.  He might just be too excited to be outside to even think about going to the bathroom and then when he goes in the accidents happen.  Don't give up on him, they're wonderful dogs and really smart.  Just be consistent and he'll catch on before too long!
