    I've Wired A Ceiling Fan The Correct Way , But I Have A Red Wire That Comes Out Of The Ceiling That I Don't Know It Go's To? My Fan Won't Run.

    My new home has a red wire that comes out from the top of the ceiling , but the wires that i;m told to use is the green , copper, white to white , and black and blue, the fan won't start. The fan is brand new what do I do ? Please help!

    They wired the red wire to the switch, I am a licenced electrician and I recommend anyone doing electrical work get a voltage tester.
