What Is The Award Data Release Division. I Got A Letter From Them Saying I Won 1,400,000.000. And They Want Me To Send Them 20.00 For Release Funds. Please Help Me On This. Thank You

This is a SCAM. Do not send them anything. Please take the letter you received to the local District Attorney's office and they will tell you the same thing.
Doing this will also ensure that they can receive the stylish orange jumpsuits and new apartments they deserve.

Smells like a class-action law suit! I got one of these too... Anyone want to hop on board? I'll call an attorney... Someone is cashing the checks, so someone can be traced to this scam!

I just got the same letter dated 1/14/08, I was spectacle because there was no phone number and they wanted $19.99 to send ME a check for $1,400,000.00. The letter looks real and official. I did enter a sweepstakes over the phone for around the same amount about 2 months ago (1st and last time EVER ), So I went on the web to see if anyone else has gotten this same letter to find out if it was a scam. Thanks all who have posted here so people don't go sending $20.00 to scum bags!!!
mskindel- I'm in!!!!!!
Number 1 cardinal rule to avoid scam artists is NEVER send anyone money for whatever reason for winning a prize.
If you did win that large amount of money don't you think they could deduct the $20 from the amount for your release of funds?
Imagine this: How much money would you have if half the people in the U.S. (or wherever you live) sent you only $1?
Don't send them the money.

I just received a letter that I won 14 million dollars I was going to send the 20.00 bucks in then I read it again and went hmmmmm! if I won that much money like the other person said in their email why not take the 20 bucks out the monies that I have won right. and I am so glad that I went on the internet and saw this thanks guys we really need to do something about these scams
I just received the same letter. If you read the back of one of the pages, it explains that with your payment of 19.99, you're purchasing a subscritption to a list of sweepstakes you can enter.

Yes, I received one of those letters and remember what publishers had to say about these. If you won the money you won it pure and simple there are no fees invovlved.I've gotten about every one that has come along including Prof. Charles Soludo. We are thinking about donating one of our web sites to uncover some of these scams. Because in my research I have discovered a grain of truth in some there are actual Gov entities. But that Info is free. So NO don't send money to any of these parasites. What ever you decide to do were behind you. TBone 17 Jan., 2008

I received the same letter and stupidly responded because it was only $19.99. The back of the first page, which I still have does claim I can request a refund within 60 days. I am doing so, but regardless of whether I get the refund I would be happy to help anyone take action against them.
