PA has a rich history of early settlements & civil war battlefields. Yo might try your luck at coin hunting, relic hunting. I know of someone that found an old Indian Peace Medal. Also, there you can look for Almandite Garnet. Good Luck. Let us know what you dig up!

Old cisterns were often used as garbage dumps. I am in Ohio and have found some valuable old bottles and other collectables by excavating old cisterns. Not sure you would have the same luck in PA but you might give it a try.
