Why A Teacher Should Be Ethical?

Teaching is The Prophet's profession. It is a code" I have been sent as a teacher". A Muslim teacher follows sayings of Holy Prophet and he would be rewarded on the Day of Judgement for his doings. Teacher should be ethical because it is said that teachers are the first role models for the students. Role model does not mean a show piece that is entertaining others by his/her dress, style and physical beauty.
Role model means a person of principles and these principles are code of ethics which are mostly derived from religion. Students tried to copy their teacher's philosophy of life.
Students follow their teachers in practical life. They have the power to lead the people to straight way and to the success or failure of nation. If teacher does not obey the Islamic Code of Ethics and misleads the student, he will see all this in his actions prayers on the Day of Judgement.
Teacher's responsibility is not only to teach the lesson related to specific subject but he also nurture the moral values, build students moral character & personality and also guide them to the path of truth and virtue, in this way they could become the sound productive members of society. That's why teacher must follow the code of ethics.
