What Is Valium?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Valium forms a part of a set of drugs known as benzodiazepines. Valium influences chemicals in the brain that are not balanced and cause depression and anxiety. Valium is mainly used to treat anxiety related problems, spasms in the muscle and alcohol withdrawal symptoms. The generic name for Valium is diazepam.

Doctors forbid taking Valium during pregnancy because it can cause defects in the foetus. Also it is essential to reveal to your physician if you have any kind of addiction to drugs, alcohol problems, liver or kidney diseases, breathing problems etc when he recommends Valium to you. Also one should not consume alcohol before taking Valium. The medication has a tendency to make you drowsy and 'contented' with life. Take the medication based only on the prescription and dosage given to you by the doctor.
