Actually, the western boundary of the Central Standard Time (CST) zone has been somewhere in Indiana since the inception of standard time zone in the United States. However, Indiana did not go on Daylight Saving Time until a couple of years ago, so until then the western boundary of the Central Daylight Time (CDT) zone was at the border between Ohio and Indiana. Now the western boundary for both CST and CDT are in the same place somewhere in Indiana.

Trallen is right about St. Louis being in the Central time zone, but technically it is Central Daylight Time this time of year, not Central Standard Time.
