If the printing function of your Dell Printer 962 is working properly then it is not a usb cable problem.Maybe its len which is used for scanning has gotten weak.

I had the same "No Scan" problem on my 962 - the solution is:

Go to this address in the Dell Community:

Follow the Reply from PudgyOne. It works perfectly!! The scanner & all other 962 functions are now working. The problem was caused by downloading a "Microsoft Hardware Update for 962" or some other "Update" which corrupts the installed driver.

One of the people who had a No Scan problem paid to speak to Dell - he was told: "It is a hardware problem, buy a new printer" Dell was wrong, it is a corrupted driver & firmware which needs to be totally uninstalled and replaced - follow the "PudgyOne" advice (from the Dell Community board).

You have to go to the paper setup on your printer and change the size and it should work
