What Is The Minimum Amount Of Days Before A Landlord Can Claim Late Fee's For Monthly Payments?

My landlord claims late fee's on the 2nd of the month even if the 1st is a Sunday. But he persists on coming himself to come and pick it up but doesn't show up far days and still wants his daily late fee. Is there something I can do?

Yes you can call your local court house. it has a thing there for landlord and tenant complaints. they can help you from being charged late fees. he does not have a say in late fees if you do not have a contract.

If you have a lease it generally contains a clause such as "rent is considered late after the 5th of the month and a penalty of $30.00 will be charged..."  read your lease sweetie♥

He cant be doing this have you considered setting up a direct debit for him or asking him to call on a Friday when the first is a Sunday or could you take it to his house an post it right on time until he gets the message that he is jumping the gun a little take a stand here you have rights as well tenants rights

You need to go to the landlord/tenant board and have a talk with them about this. Generally, if the first falls on a Sunday, even with banks, there is a day that is given to you for not making the said date, and the allowance is not charged to you. I think this guy is just trying to take advantage of you. Make sure you talk to them, and they can mediate sometimes about this. Hope this helps, good luck.
