When Do My 5 Week Old Kittens Eat And Use The Litter Box?

Answer Question

They should start really soon. The trick is to keep them around an adult cat (preferably the mother) that uses the litter box.  I remember that when my cat was a 6 week old kitten I would literally watch her all day and when I saw her squatting I would pick her up and take her right into the litter box and not let her out until she does something in it. After she peed I would give her some moist cat food of my finger as a treat. You just need guard them for a week or so ( I know it will be very annoying and patience is required) and not to clean the litter at first so they smell the scent of the litter. Also if they do their business on the carpet punish them by locking them up in a cage for about 5 minutes. Good luck
