How Do Fans Cool?

Answer Question

2 Answers - Sort by: Date | Rating

A ceiling fan works by recirculating rising warm air, or drawing it upwards to an outside vent.
An auto engine fan will cool a radiator by pushing air through the rad if it is placed in front of the rad, or by drawing air through if placed behind.

It is important that the blades of the fan are set at the correct angle for the cooling required, either to 'push' or 'pull'.

They cause an airflow, which cools humans by evaporating sweat. In an engine intercooler (radiator), the airflow extracts heat from the radiator fins and disperses it to atmosphere.
