Rabbits are hungry and you have food. I'm sure you don't wish to hurt the rabbits, so there are some simple solutions. You don't say if these rabbits are yours or not, but I'm sure that you would prefer to protect the rabbits without hurting your vegetables.

First off, do you know where the rabbits are coming from? Can you use netting to stop them coming in that way still? Do they burrow at your vegetables, or take them from the top surface?

For surface, dig a trench around your vegetable patch and surround it with canes or wooden staves, you can remove as many staves as you like for your own access.

If they are taking them from below, there is little you can do this year, but next year, dig deep into the soil, down below where your veg would grow and put in some concrete slabs, make them very deep, then your veg is fine.

As a last resort, you could get a dog that lives in the garden.

The best thing to do is to get a good protective fence for the vegetable patch but remember that rabbits are good burrowers!
I have always had dogs so I've never had a problem with rabbits in my very rural garden. I wouldn't do anything that actually hurt the rabbits because it's not their fault that the vegetables are so tempting!

I do think that a good, strong deep rooted fencing is the best idea and perhaps a protective covering if they are quite low growing vegetables. You might need to think of some additions to your garden fencing to stop them getting in at all.
