    Manilla is a very small town which is located in the New South Wales in Australia. It is located at about 41 kilometres from the city of Tamworth (regional city). Manilla is very famous as a fishing and paragliding area. The name Manilla originated from the Gamilaraay language. The meaning of the word is 'meeting of the rivers'.

    The town of Manilla was established in the year 1870; it was established at the junction of the Manilla River and Namoi River. The estimated population of the town of Manilla is about 2,450. Formerly it was known as the centre of the Manilla Shire's Local Government Area, however later it was taken as a part of the Tamworth Regional Council, this happened in the year 2004.
