 St Mary’s Cray is located in the London borough of Bromley. Bromley is a borough in the county of Greater London. Greater London is located in the region of London. St Mary Cray is situated on the banks of the River Cray. St Mary Cray and St Paul’s Cray have not been able to match up to the rapid growth and development which has been witnessed in the nearby town of Orpington.
Orpington provides local communities, including those based in the St Mary Cray and St Paul’s Cray areas, with their main economic activities and is also a major centre for shopping. It is mainly a suburban residential area. The closest railway station to St Mary Cray is the St Mary Cray railway station.

The town of St Mary Cray has a church called St Mary Church and a famous pub called Mary Rose Pub, which is located near the church. The village was named after St Mary the Virgin Church.
