    Bibendum is the name of the logo of Michelin tyres. They are one of the largest tyre manufacturers in the world. They are renowned for their investment in technology to build tyres for the future. They are one of only two manufacturers who have the right to make tyres for Formula One cars. Michelin headquarters is in France. Michelin is extremely competitive in Formula One. They beat their bitter rivals. Bridgestone hands down in the 2005 season. Ferrari, the most dominant F1 team in the last decade uses Bridgestone tyres.

    Andre Michelin is the founder of the company. It was he who is responsible for the choice of Bibendum as the company's logo. Bibendum has become a part of popular culture; it made an appearance in the comic Asterix in Switzerland. Michelin also produces maps, guide books and information about restaurants in a few countries. Michelin's restaurant rating book is extremely popular amongst food connoisseurs.
