Upper respiratory complex is a very common illness in cats especially young cats, stray cats, and shelter animals. This disease has both viral and bacterial components. It is highly contagious. The signs are typically sneezing, coughing, nasal discharge, lethargy, anorexia, and potential dehydration.
Feline leukemia is a concern with indoor/outdoor cats, stray cats, and kittens from stray mothers. While a possibility this is much less common than upper respiratory complex. It is very unlikely if your cat has been vaccinated for feline leukemia.
Have your cat and the kitten examined by a veterinarian.

It's either a cold or feline leukemia, you really need to take the cat to the vet, as leukemia isn't good for cats to have, and if not caught in time, can make them pass away, and they recommend euthanizing after a certain point in time. Hope this helps you out, good luck.
