Lake Bled is a beautiful resort in Slovenia. It is located in the Julian alps, next to the small town of Bled.
The lake has a maximum length of 2120 metres and a maximum width of 1380 metres. It is approximately 30 metres deep.
Lake Bled has a beautiful natural island in the middle of it. The island houses the Assumption of Mary's Pilgrimage Church which was built in the 15th century.
Overlooking Bled town as well as the Lake is a magnificent castle, which is called Blejski Grad. It stands 130 metres up on a cliff and is the oldest castle in Slovenia.
Around the lake are several hotels, such as Hotel Park Bled, a casino and a camping site. Many weddings take place in each year at Lake Bled, in either the church or the castle, due to the romantic location of the area, with it's stunning mountain scenery.
