    The word Belmont has no meaning but as a name for a place or city, it is quite popular.
    In Australia, there are places called Belmont in New South Wales, Queensland, Victoria, Western Australia and a City of Belmont, in Western Australia. In Canada, one can find places named Belmont in Nova Scotia; Prince Edward Island and Ontario. France too has its share, and these are in Doubs, Gers, Isère, Jura, Haute-Marne, Bas-Rhin, Bas-Rhin and Haute-Saône.

    United States has the largest number of places named Belmont. These are towns in the states of Illinois; Kingman County, Kansas; Phillips County, Kansas; Iowa; North Dakota; Douglas County, South Dakota; Spink County; South Dakota and in Minnesota.
