Many side dishes are made with rice and there are many things that can be added - peas, beans, assorted veggies, etc.
Try it sometime - cook some rice using chicken broth or chicken bouillon dissolved in hot water (instead of using plain water as directed on the box directions), when done add some peas (and if you want - carrots and corn - heat through) and you will have a nice side dish to compliment your entree.
