Can Someone Give Me A Short Summary About The Character Of Captain Jack Aubrey Of The "Master And Commander" Movie? Or From The Books?

Going by Russell Crowe's exemplary performance in the film, Capt. Jack Aubrey is a canny military strategist with the soul of a poet and the ability to win the respect of his crew, not because of his position or rank but because of his personality. He cares about his men, but he is also devoted to the Crown.

I haven't read any of the books, but according to my older brother, who has read a few, Crowe perfectly captured the spirit of character.

And on another level, the MASTER AND COMMANDER is one of my favourites films in recent years. It has elegance and energy, atmosphere and action. It is directed by one of the great directors of our time, Peter Weir.
