Discuss The Review Of Champions League Final Played Between Liverpool And AC Milan?

This year Champions league final was played between Italian giants AC Milan and Liverpool in Athens on May 23, 2007. Courtesy of Inazagi goals AC Milan won the final by a margin of 2 goals to 1. Before the final Liverpool were slight favorites as they defeated AC Milan in Istanbul in the final of 2005 and their game suit Europe better than English Premiership.
In fact it was Liverpool who started the game brilliantly and controlled game in the first half but luck was not on their side.

Even after creating good goal-scoring opportunity in the first half Liverpool could not find an opening goal. Liverpool marked well Milan's attacking players and Kaka remained silent in the first half. But it was a needless foul on Kaka by Alonso in the injury time that won Milan a free-kick just outside the box from which Inzagi scored an opening goal.


Liverpool also played well in the second half. In 62nd minute Gerrard got an open chance to put Liverpool on parity but his shot was saved by Milan keeper Dida. In search of equalizer Liverpool introduced Crouch for Mascherano in 78th minute but that change allowed Milan to score a second goal. Liverpool found net in 90th minute but could not score another goal to extend the game to extra-time.
