Glasgow is situated on the banks or the River Clyde, in West Central Scotland. Glasgow grew as a major transatlantic trading port throughout the industrial revolution. Currently it is United Kingdoms second most economically vital commerce and retain sector.

Glasgow is also said to be the second most fashionable tourist destination in Scotland and the third in entire United Kingdom after Edinburgh and London. The police force of Glasgow is known as Strathclyde police.
