Can You Bathe A Newborn Baby Cat?

Answer Question

It's not recommended that you bathe a newborn cat. But if you have to do so, do it with minimum luke warm water, in your kitchen sink. Place a towel in the bottom of the sink so that the cat has some griping, and will feel more safe. Once again i do not recommend bathing a newborn because most shampoos out there are only for cats-not kittens. And most of them are for kittens 12 weeks and older. So i would get very very careful. If you do choose to bathe the kitten still, after the cat is rinsed out all the way, wrap it up in a towel to keep it warm. You might want to hold it for about a few minutes because i'm sure it would be very cold. My 4 month old kitten is cold every time i give him a bath! Dry of the kitten gently, and i would bring it back to mom for it to be cleaned. After you give a cat a bath, they always give themselves "cat baths" after.

No.  Maybe in a couple weeks after the kitten is born.  It's way to early to bathe because the kitten is still with it's mother and usually when the kitten is touched (as far as I know) The mother thinks the kitten is tainted some how and she'll stop taking care of the kitten and can die from starvation.  Bare with me.  I'm definitely not a veterinarian.
