Can Hair Follicle Test For Drugs (cocaine) Give False Positive Results?
I know someone who tested positive for cocaine (which he never used) but when he retested with a different laboratory about two weeks later it was completely negative. Please help.

There are two possibilities:
- The result is either actually false.
- Or the symptoms are gone after 2 weeks.
But if you are so sure, then the first possibility seems true.

The drug test can be positive in hair follicles if you have used the drugs. So no drugs, no positive results. All the manufacturers who sell the drugs to pass drug tests claim that amoxicillin and some tonic water can cause false positive results.The false positive results can be with those drugs who have same structural formula as that of cocaine. The amoxicillin has totally different structural formula from cocaine. You friend when tested in second laboratory, it is possible that drug had eliminated from the system at that time. ONLY THOSE PEOPLES ARE WORRIED WHO HAVE HISTORY OF SOME DRUGS INTAKE. IF YOU HAVE NOT TAKEN DRUGS THEN DO NOT WORRY.
