Testing is a subset of QA. It's just one part of it,whereas QA is involved in the whole software lifecycle, starting from requirement analysis, preparing estimates, test plan preparation, execution and finally the release.

Testing is just one part like executing the test plans or verifying the bugs alone(if the project is a maintainace project).
