Why Are Honeybee's Beehives Hexagonal In Shape?

Why do you think honeybees always make a hexagonal shape beehive and not a circle or triangle? I do not understand. Can you help?

Two theories explain the reason behind this.
Jan Brozek says that a hexagonal shape tiles a place covering a smaller surface area compared to other shapes within a given volume. Therefore the least possible material is used this way.

D'Arcy Wentworth Thompson believes that the shape is automatically made when individual cells are put together. The evidence he gives for this is that the cells made individually(i.e. The queen cells) look irregular.
