Is your ex-boyfriend at all approachable? Can you not talk to him? What do you have to lose in trying to talk to him?

Same goes for the brother, can you not talk to him directly? Try to appeal to him as a human being?

Otherwise, you could resort to small claims' court, get the brother to pay for repairs. This is tricky, and you might have a lot of problems proving that the brother is responsible. The rules for pursuing damages in small claims courts vary from US state to state and country to country. You can just phone up your local (county) courthouse administrators and ask for advice, though.

How much damage did he do?

Can you still claim for it on your car insurance? You might have to file a police report for the incident, in order for an insurance claim to be accepted. And claiming might increase your premiums to an expense you don't want to pay, either.

Otherwise, obviously, you might just end up paying for repairs yourself.
