Fashion is a way expression, which is rather personal than cultural. This expression may be in sync with the contemporary ideas of fashion or may not be. The term fashion conveys that something is done to look good. A fashion change can be seen in many fields like: Architecture, Media, Dance and Music, Politics, Technology and not to forget Personal Adornment and grooming, costumes, and body type. Costume is especially associated with fashion.
The 1960s were the years for designers like Givenchy, Chanel, and Pucci. The televisions broadcasted the contemporary styles. These nine years radically changed outlook of people about fashion. The flower studded look of the hippies was in vogue. Many donned the Mod look with mini skirts, bell bottoms, printed fabrics with gaudy colours and long hair. The 1960s were influenced by the British Rock 'n' Roll.

The 1960's were a revolution on fashion. The mini skirt, Flower Power , Maxi's and Beatle suits and sweaters all made their appearance.
Geometrical haircuts for women were given alot of press through Mary Quant. Quant was a fashion designer known for her geometric designs and hair cuts to complement them.
Tights became fashionable rather than stockings which meant that skirts could get shorter.
Girls and women tended to wear a great deal of make up around their eyes and panstick was popular for lips.
Men's fashions changed and alot of men grew their hair very long - not a new idea but quite revolutionary for the post war era of crewcuts and short back and sides!
Jeans were always popular and bell bottoms were fashionable for a while.
Just about anything went really and it was an exciting time for many of us who were young then!
