The mushroom’s spores are present in its gills. The gills are the side by side extremely thin layers that are present under the mushroom’s cap or on the underside of the umbrella like structure. The gills are actually tiny tubes that are packed close together and form a sponge layer. This is the place where the spores are produced. These gills produce millions of spores that fall downwards from the gills and then from there they are carried forward by wind.
