How Do You Make A Bloody Mary?

Bloody Mary is a drink primarily made by combining vodka, an alcoholic beverage obtained from grains like corn and rye, and tomato juice; the drink also contains various other ingredients like pepper, salt, lemon juice, horse radish, Tabasco sauce and Worcestershire sauce to add flavor.

Bloody Mary is a cocktail drink that is served in the morning over ice and is believed to have been invented in the early part of the 20th century in a bar in Paris. The drink appears blood like in color and hence is known as Bloody Mary; the name may also refer to Queen Mary I of England or Mary Tudor (1516-1558) who was also known as Bloody Mary on account of her religious policies in reverting to Roman Catholicism which led to the execution of three hundred protesters.

The drink contains 2 parts Vodka to 3 parts of tomato juice along with salt, pepper about 5 drops of Tabasco and Worcestershire sauces, 1 tsp of celery salt and horse radish along with a dash of lime juice and is served garnished with celery.  

I can give you recipes for both contemporary and classic Bloody Marys. Even though Bloody Mary is usually made with vodka and is basically a spicy tickling cocktail. I will first tell you how make a basic Bloody Mary and then a classic one. You need 1 ½ fluid ounces if vodka, 1 dash lemon juice, 3 fluid ounces of tomato juice, ½ tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce and a drop or 2 of Tabasco sauce. Shake all the above mentioned ingredients well with ice and strain into a glass over ice. The ideal glass to serve a Bloody Mary would be an old fashioned medium sized glass. Add salt and pepper to taste and a wedge of lime. Cheers.

The classic Bloody Mary recipe I am about to give is call Arthur's Bloody Mary. You need almost the same ingredients as mentioned above including granulated onion and garlic, dashes of horseradish and celery stick to garnish. Prepare and serve in the same why as mentioned above.
