What Does Lavender Mean?

    The Lavender Lavandula is a flower that belongs to the genus of around 25-30 species of flowering plants. They are mostly found and grown in the Mediterranean region south to tropical Africa and east to India. It is also found in regions across the Canary Islands, North and East Africa, south Europe and the Mediterranean, Arabia, and India. The genus also includes of herbaceous plants, sub-shrubs, and small shrubs. The lavender that is very common is known as the Lavandula angustifolia.
    Some of the other lavenders that are grown in gardens are called Lavender stoechas, Lavender dentata, and Lavender multifida. The oil of lavenders is known as lavender oil and is used as an antiseptic and for aromatherapy.
