Can You Be Evicted By The Sheriff On Weekends?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

I guess it would depend on where you live how they do things. I can say I have never done a set out (where landlord removes belongings from the house with sheriff/constable present) on a weekend. Also, the sheriff will come by and serve you a document (Writ for possession) giving you a final 24 hours to get out. If you haven't received that you should be okay. Usually, they will let you know when they bring the documents that they will be back the next day to clear the house. They usually don't have much respect for your belongings when they are moving you out. Beware! I would do everything I could to get out before that happens.
