Do You HAVE To Boil Lettuce Before Freezing To Make Tadpole Food Out Of It?

Answer Question

If you boil lettuce you spoil the taste and nutrients... To get tadpole food or any extraneous matter out of it wash the lettuce leaves in saline (salt and water) solution but do this shortly before you consume it or the solution will cause the leaves to wilt and the lettuce will loose it's attractiveness.

      No i never do
i just got some lettuce out of the garden because it doesn't have any chemicals on it then made sure that there was no bugs on it and then put it straight into the freezer
boiling it takes most of the nutrients out of it so it isn't as healthy for them
so just freezing it is fine
i have found on a website that after it is frozen you scrunch in up in your hand to make little bits like fish food my that doesn't work for me so i just freeze the lettuce and give them a few chunks they just love it

      good luck

YES! You are you are always supposed to boil the lettuce first so it will kill all the germs in the lettuce and they still get all the stuff they need
1.you boil the lettuce for 10-15 minutes
        2.chop up the lettuce
        3. Put it and ice cube tray and freeze it
1 ice cube you be enough for a average size frog pond for a couple of days
and if you just have a small container just half a ice cube for a couple of days
