    If A 1996 Jetta Is Miss Firing What Could Be The Cause , I Already Changed The Plugs And Wires But Am Also Now Losing Power, Any Ideas ?

    When was the timing belt changed? If the timing is off this could very well be the cause of it also the distributor could be bad but if the timing belt has not been changed in over 80,000 miles this would be the suspect first. Power loss is usually attributed to the timing belt another possibility is if it over 150,000 miles the camshaft could be worn out causing power loss but not missfiring that would definitely be the timing usually the timing belt and water pump should be changed together.
